Lisa Ramey - Better Than That
New York-based R&B singer Lisa Ramey has shared her song, ‘Better Than That’ as part of her Foretaste EP, on the 8th of March, 2024. Boasting over half a million streams on Spotify alone, Lisa Ramey first caught national attention as a finalist on NBC’s hit music competition show, The Voice, where she performed on Team Legend. Lisa is currently one of two vocalists on tour in the USA with Zayn Malik’s all-female seven-woman band which was featured on Daily Mail, Yahoo News, Buzzfeed, TheNews, NewsBreak, and others. After headlining alongside Ms. Lauryn Hill, she took her soulful rock artistry to the limit with her debut album Surrender (2020), which made it to #34 on Good Morning America's Top 50 Albums of 2020. Being included alongside artists like John Legend, Camilla Cabello and Common as part of the Global Citizen “Together at Home” concert series were some highlights of her prestigious career.
Her EP Foretaste, has recently received radio support from South African National radio station GoodHope FM and renowned UK station Reprezent Radio, notable publications NOTION Magazine, LOCK Mag and Wordplay, as well as placements on Apple’s New Music Daily and Spotify Editorial Playlists. This release was produced by Joe Capo Kent, a three-time Grammy-nominated producer, with mixing by Sam Maul of Shock City Studios and mastering by Glenn Schick, all contributing their extensive experience to the project.

With a soulful fusion of pop, R&B, and raw emotion, she crafts a sound that transcends comparison - rich, resonant, and undeniably her own.
‘Better Than That’ is a stick of soul pop dynamite ready to erupt in the listener’s heart. Resplendently cinematic production weaves between reverb-soaked piano balladry to full-bodied choruses with intricate, powerful percussion and lush instrumentation. The star of the show, as always, is Lisa Ramey’s soaring vocals, cascading through the song as they carry its potent hook, passionately lamenting a relationship’s downfall.
